Sexual intercourse between consenting anglerfish is limited to only one position--but what a position it is! The male anglerfish, considerably smaller and weaker than the female, sinks his teeth into his mate just above her eyes and hangs on for dear life--forever. Meanwhile, his body atrophies from disuse, and by the time he dies, he has been reduced to a set of disembodied, orally located sex organs. His fins, body, and lower organs have withered away long before. According to MIT biologist Robert Bener, "He's essentially a male wart on the female's forehead."

Yeah! Baby!!

That picture shows numerous rows of warts on the fish's head. My question is this: "Is that fish a slut?"

Oddly, there are striking similiarities between the anglerfish' and Diane and my relationship.

1. Sexual intercourse is limited to only one position. [Well duh :duh , .....that is all there is.]

2. The male anglerfish, considerably smaller and weaker than the female. [Diane is a giant red headed amazon woman who blocks out the sun when she stands next to me.]

3. Sinks his teeth into his mate just above her eyes and hangs on for dear life. [I also employ this technique or else I lose my grip and my head keeps hitting the ceiling fan.]

4. His body atrophies from disuse, and by the time he dies, he has been reduced to a set of disembodied, orally located sex organs. [I thought time does this to all males. My 92 year old grandpa is living proof of this after you have seen him in the yard raking leaves in his shorts.]

5. He's essentially a male wart on the female's forehead. [Diane accuses me of this all the time! My in-laws commonly refer to me as Diane's male wart.]

Yeah, really! I mean, what are the other possibilities?

Never tease a man about the size of this p-ns. You wouldn't like it on your nose as a wart.

Fondueset, on Blue Planet they show you the anglerfish with a male mate hanging for dear life... it's quite amusing. What astounds me is how they manage to find these creatures at such depths and also find them in such "moments".

Great thread :D Mating techniques in the animal kingdom has always fascinated me :D

Subtle, very Subtle. Reminds me - Sands - I'd like to get back with you on the whole 'biting' thing.

I once dated a girl that I met while diving, but who later broke up with me because she claimed to have found a better lover. When I saw her a week after the break up and she had bite marks between her eyes and warts on her face. It all makes sense to me now, ....................she apparently left me for Walter!!!

Jim, I just got a call from Diane's financial planner. Something about Florida being a community property state... :ycard

We have corydoras in our aquarium. We usually hope that they don't start copulating whilst we have polite company as it involves girl cory fellating boy cory. Smashing!?!
