Hi
I'm very keen to restart freediving and am moving to Blandford, Dorset in August. Any help for contacting someone to help me get started?
I have a bit of experience and my own fins, mask, weights & snorkel (proper suit to come) but am rusty. I would like to get into spearfishing sometime too.

Would really appreciate some help!
Thanks
Martin :wave

Try PM ing 'Almostafish'. He's based in Dorset and might be able to help you out.

If you're interested in Quarry freediving, then contact Samdive ( or visit http://www.saltfreedivers.com )

Cheers

Hi
I'm a newbie to Dorset also!
I've made a couple of in-roads for spearfishing and freediving connections so far and will give you a litttle background:

I got into freediving in 1999 and was lucky enough to get into a regular training session in London, led by the UK team manager. He's just got back in contact and we're looking into setting up a regular pool training session in Southampton (or closer to Bournemouth). It's early days for this though.

I've found some very friendly spearfishing guys at Portland Oceaneering and am hoping to hook up with someone there for my intro to spearfishing.

Unfortunaltely I've started work again (I'm a teacher) so am probably stuck with weekends (I'm about 30mins from the coast at Blandford).
Please email me on martinr@fastmail.fm if you'd like to see about trying out a dive or pool training. I'm certainly keen to get started properly!

Martin :)
