As Spearo in Cape Town, sharks are an obvious problem. After running into two big sharks in the last week, i have decided to make something that will keep my fish out of the water, no flapping dying fish and no blood = hopefully no shark.

So here it is. I have spoken about it on previous threads, but this last week's encounters have spurred me into action. This float can handle easily over 20kg of weight, has surprising very little drag through the water. It's great not only for fish but for stowing extra gear like snorkels and masks (really annoying loosing these when you are on a long shore dive!), crayfish or even a bottle of coke to wash the salt water out your mouth. The lid is tight but it's not water tight, but i'm working on it. Other additions will include some sort of reel on top, to roll your float line up on. I also want to put a big handle on the lid so that it is easier to lift (since it is a bit cumbersome to open with thick wetsuit gloves on)

It's pretty self explanatory, but if anyone has questions on how its made, you welcome to ask. For the SA guys, if you want me to make you one, i'm selling them for R150. just PM me. The postage to anywhere in the country works out to about R32-00.
