I came across an old spear gun, but can't find any information about it. It is a Barracuda Model F made by J. B. Furda Co. Does anyone know anything about this?

Never seen anything like it. Does it have a trigger mechanism or is it fundamentally a sling?

It has a crude trigger on the front grip.

I used to have something a lot like it. I think I bought it in around 1953. It wasn't as fancy- it had round aluminum bars stock for the vertical handles, and had a hinge on the front end that acted as a trigger. The friction of the shaft pushing the hinge kept it from firing until you pulled in on the bottom of the hinge.

I did a search and couldn't find it, but this photo is the closest I could come.

Notice the price, and the promise of 30 foot range.
