Anxious to start

Hey y'all,

Kinda new to scuba diving. Been diving off the New Jersey coast for 2 years, around 50 dives, and decided I'd try spearing an occasional meal while I'm at it. Will be getting a pole spear to start and see where it goes from there.

Enjoy yourself here and hunting amigo. Post over in the Spearfishing threads for any specific questions. There are a few member here who hunt on scuba and are quite helpful. There are a few different gear/technique considerations from what I've read.

Welcome Goldenstar. Scuba diving is just awesome! How is the diving in Jersey? I have a brother and sister in law that recently moved there and they are intersted in getting certified. Where would you recommend they go?

I got certified at The Scuba Connection in Hillsborough. They were great for me. I got a winter special at a great price and my instructor was very good. The diving here is great but then diving anywhere is great for me. 10' vis and 40 degree water and 100' plus vis and 80 degree water still a thrill. The diving here in NJ is drysuit pretty much year round for me.
