Any spearfishermen out of Chicago area??

Hello DeeperBlue,

I am new to this forum but have been spearfishing for a few years. Currently living in Chicago and hear there is some action in Lake Michigan. Would love to hear if there were some more people in my area that know of spots to hit up.

Hi D,

Don't know spots in Chicago area as I'm up in WI and limited experience in L. Michigan. But I'm pretty sure some of the people who use the WI Spearo/Freedive Forum live in the Chicago area. You could try posting a message there or search through old posts for Chicagoland fishing spots.

If you are able to travel 90 miles north, I have heard there are several spots around milwaukee to find Perch, including at the Appomattox wreck off of Atwater park. My L Michigan fishing has been Port Washington and north. I have not seen Perch in Port Washington but there have been a lot of Carp on the outside of the break wall.

Might help if you tell people the type of fish you looking for and dive you are willing to do.
