Dear Forum,

Taking the freediving family to Los Cabos. Anybody have any recommendations for local freediving friendly dive operations?

Sincerely, Charles Engles

Hi Charles

It's late for this post but anyway.

I don't know about Los Cabos but I been North of La Paz, Baja California Sur, with the guys in this articles:

MEXICO I

MEXICO II

MEXICO III

You can contact them by their home page:

FREEDIVERS

That place is just great. Maybe for the next time in Baja

Any local freedivers in Baja California or mainland Mexico Pacific side on this forum????

I have been down there a few times scuba divng, but for freedivng I am not sure who to recommend.

I always liked just driving up to the beach at Chileno and renting a weight belt so I could freedive off of the reef in front of the beach. You can pick and choose your depths as you go out further and there was quite a bit more to see than I had expected. The have a diveshop and kayak rental place right on the beach.

Next option is to take a water taxi out to the arch and dive off of the east side of the point.

Another good dive was Cabo Pulmo a couple of hours to the east. They have one of the only coral reefs on the whole west coast right there and everything was less than 50'. You can rent a panga to get further out, or just go right off the shore.

I guess you could try Tio's water sports since I think they supported some of Pipin's dives down there.

I am at Baja California Sur, in Santa Rosalía, 600 km north of La Paz, 800 km south of Ensenada. I spend my time between the Pacific Coast and the Sea of Cortes.

There is a group of freedivers at La Paz too.

Saludos
