Anyone ever made a gun with Padouk?

Wondering if anyone has built a gun using Padouk, and also what kind of properties it has in the water. Like, is it buoyant or not? Naturally oily? Those kinds of things.

Great wood to work with, also a great wood to build guns with. I have only built one with padouk but know of a lot of other builders who use it regularly. Very stable, similar density to teak, the rich red color will darken considerably without a uv protectant finish.

Padouk has a density of approx. 900 kg/m3. Teak's density are from aproxx. 630 to 900 kg/m3 depending on the origin. Padouk is very strong. Its a little harder to work with than teak. It's recoomended to predrill holes if you are going to use wood screws in it.
