Was at Moose Lake today - Its pretty much green now...as are most inland lakes. Thinking of trying Lake Geneva - I'm just afraid of there being too many ignorant people out in thier boats.

Anybody got any experience freediving, snorkeling, spearfishing or diving in Lake Geneva? Any advice? I'd really like to try it out possibly.

I think the water stays pretty clear year 'round on Lake Geneva. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I dive Williams Bay vis was ok 2 wks ago. Be sure to have your dive flag and haveing some type of boat is a good idea this time of year. I go during week days and have not been killed as of yet. The fish are in shallow 17 or less ft. I recommend getting in the water behind the water safety building. I think you can map quest Constance rd Water Safety building Williams Bay for best directions. I was at Devils lake two weeks ago vis was ok.

What entry did you use to get on Moose Lake? Are you using a boat and going in off the old launch at the south end or do you have a connection to do a shore entry?

It's been years since I've dove there, but before that I must have put a few hundred dives in out there with all the classes I taught. I wasn't into spearfishing back when i used to dive there, but I bet it would be great earlier in the season.

I was out in Devil's Lake last week and vis was still pretty good. Water was 75F at the surface and stayed that way down to 18'. No more spearfishing there anymore. :(
