Anyone tried Pelengas dry barrel kit?

They seem reasonable priced and focused on reducing noise which I think is THE most important thing with these guns. Thinking about how it would go on my 970 compared to just making up a metal sliding ring for the Tomba12easy style. Can't afford 70 euro for the full Tomba kit and then limited to one diameter spear.

That is a very good price! Particularity if it includes the metal slider.
but you need to make sure you can get spare "vacuum cuffs" (it does come with 3 which is good).
The cuffs are a perishable, particularly if you use 8mm spears.

I haven't tried it but had one of the magnetic line releases. It died after half a year - the magnet had corroded and cracked. So, if you have one of those, make sure you coat that magnet with something to protect it.

That said, I wouldn't mind trying the muzzle.
For the noise, I think the least noisy ones are the designs where the piston hits the rubber and not a nylon part which then transfers the hit to the bumper. I don't know how the internals of the Pelengas looks.
Also, the metal slider is not gonna help you on the noise issue...

Judging from this, it seems it is piston direct to bumper. That will help you with the noise. The Vuoto muzzle is piston to nylon e.g.

This is an nice kit, however it would be even better if it would be used together with original spear. I suppose it would be little tricky to use it with some other brand spear!?

I don't understand what you mean tromic. I am using a Riffe 9/32" spear. Would this kit not work with this slightly oversized spear?

“Pelengas” don’t recommend using an 8 mm diameter shaft with their vacuum cuff system as the shank (the edge of the shaft tail stop) will eventually tear the vacuum cuff unless the larger shaft diameter has a polyurethane bush covering the shaft tail stop. You can see the blue polyurethane bush in the “Pelengas” kit photo posted above. Evidently no such problem with their 7 mm shaft which is just like those from other suppliers and has no polyurethane bush on the shaft tail. That was the situation when the gun was first announced, I don’t know if there has been any change to that since. The same vacuum cuff was used for all shaft sizes, but there was talk of making a vacuum cuff for each shaft size as is the case with the “Taimen”, but the latter involves a different muzzle as well even though externally the muzzles look identical. That different muzzle size for each shaft option allows the unsupported annular gap around the shaft only bridged by the flexible section of rubber cuff to be the same size which would not be the case with the same muzzle and different spears with matching vacuum cuff diameters. Whether that is over-engineering the muzzle design I don’t know, but a very thorough testing program must have told them that they needed to do it for the “Taimen”, yet all their spears have polyurethane tails so that the muzzle seals (vacuum cuffs) are spared a sharp peripheral edge going through them with every shot and the shaft is perfectly aligned in the muzzle bore by the slider/line slide. Basically no stone was left unturned!

Just wanted to comment on this last point because that's actually one area where the Vuoto muzzle is not that well thought out. As far as I recall, the Salvimar slider is not very well fitted into the front of the muzzle(?).
It makes sense for it to be to, as Pete points out, to align the shaft and support it at the bore.

I think a quick and dirty mod for the Vuoto would be to fill up the little instep at the very front with epoxy paste of any sort and then, once hardened, drilling it out to fit what ever slider you use.
This would work well for freeshafts - just drill a smaller hole.

9/32 is OK but you would have to find out how to mount the PU tubing-damper onto the shaft. Without PU damper steel slider won't be good choice.

It looks like they just slide on the shaft. I assume a 7mm one would be able to be squeezed onto a 7.1mm shaft....

The problem is that 0,425 mm would too thin for PU tubing wall ((8 mm - 7.15 mm)/2) It would be better if the shaft would have been turned to 6,5 mm OD.
You need a turner or a lathe...

Here is a photo of the “Pelengas” spear tail which I assume is the one found on their 8 mm shaft. It appears to me that the shaft is made in one piece and has something like a circlip in a narrow groove hidden under the blue polyurethane bush as in front of the bush and to the rear the shaft seems to be of the same diameter. The 7 mm shaft has a screw on tail as the shaft and butt are of a different colour.

The OD of the groove is about 6 mm.
