Anyone tried spearfishing in B.C for lingod? Rock Cod?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
The most fish I have ever seen at any location were at Graham's wall off Sidney (near Victoria), at a depth of around 30m.

However, for the most part everything except greenling is closed. You need to go very far away to find anywhere where Rockfish or Ling Cod are open. There are some good spots on the sunshine coast. General overfishing means that most of the good spots are not divulged by the people who know them (I have friends who spear quite a bit, but I don't personally know where these spots are).

Another spot filled with fish is the Whyte Islets on the sunshine coast, tons of greenling on the West side of the islets, tons of Rock fish on the east side, but again Rock fish closed. Twenty sea lions or more live there as well.
