Hi all,
I am stuck in a bit of a quandary about wetsuits. I am looking into the pros and cons of switching over to a regular steamer wetsuit, a typhoon stealth wetsuit to be precise. The reason for this is that my Omer suit didnt really do the job last year due to the beaver tail being a Velcro fitting and it was constantly coming undone. I have found the typhoon suit and with a hood I am wondering if it will be any good. It's a 7/5/4mm mixed thickness suit so it should be perfect for Cornwall. I know it won't be as warm as an open cell suit but I woul really like some input from others. Also a point to note at 6" 4" with a 48 inch chest and 40 inch waist finding a half decent suit off the peg without spending custom money is a bit of a task.

If anyone is of a similar size to me and using a mares suit in size six? I would love to know about the quality of them.......

Thanks

Of course you can use your surf suit, you already know it wont be ideal but it will work it is just a matter of how long you can stay warm.
However you cant beat a custom suit & don't be thinking they are so expensive - diveskin custom suit, made to measure & delivered to the UK cost about £135 - £140.

I have been speaking with Spiros, one of the guys at Diveskin, and he has been very helpful and punctual with his responses. I plan on ordering a suit this month but am just waiting on some free samples of the different styles of spearfishing suits they sell because I found the pictures on the site werent great on the one that I wanted. The samples should arrive in the next few days so I'll be sure to post what i think of the camo styles and quality of the neoprene. Hopefully there won't be anything to put me off the bargain price! Customer service is great so far.
Hope this can be of some use to you,
Cheers

Here you are Oceanos wetsuits Spearfishing Suits you dont have to worry about the quality at all, there are lots & lots of DB members who are very happy with the service & the quality.
In fact I dont think I have every read a bad report in the 7 years I have been a member, I personally have bought three suits from them & presently use the a 5mm nylon lined inside & out & a nylon out. smooth skin inside version.

Thanks foxfish, I have just ordered another Omer suit today but I will take a look into these suits. Thanks again peeps

Must concur with Foxfish, got my suit from Spiros last year. Just fill in the order form supplying 16 vital statistics and off you go. takes a bit of time to come but the cammo is good and the quality great.

I think I will wait to recieve my new suit from Apnea and then go from there, I have looked on the website and I am really impressed with the prices they offer and the shipping is very reasonable too.
