I'm looking to order beuchat mundial 3.5mm on the net and was just looking for some reports from divers who have used them? any imput would be appriciated thanks

Wearing the Beuchat Mundial Camo, Elite, or Elaskin as your wetsuit is like driving a Rolls Royce as your car!!!

I have yet to wear the Competition or Equipe models, but these do not have the same ergonomic cut as the higher end models I mentioned above.

I don't know how much these cost in SA, but a lot of aussies find it less expensive to buy Beuchat gear from me and have it shipped down.

do you now if beauchat makes custom wetsuits? im 6'5" but only 180 so i cant find a size that fits me, or do you recomend any fairly priced custom suits

thanks. what is the inside of the suit like? is it open cell or that smooth silver titanium?

how much would it be to ship one to SA?

Thanks again
Drew

hi i saw this thread & i've got a ? can i just get the jacket in 3.5mm in cammo green, iwouldn,t have thought so,how can i contact you direct for measurements, shall igo to the website ,thanks jimdoe2you

Yes, I can sell an individual jacket or bottom. You can PM me your height, weight, and chest measurement, and I will be able to make a recommendation on the size.

I used this suit for awhile before I sold it at the price I bought it for. I loved it, and the guy that has it now loves it too. The beuchat mundial was crazy comfy, and the 5mm was warm here in high 30's F water.

thanks Joe, Is the inside of the suit smooth titanium like the gloves i've attached?

Thanks Jim. Is the inside of the suit smooth titanium like the gloves i've attached?

First, that pic is of my favorite gloves ever. Those are the Beuchat Semi-Dry gloves!

Second, the green camo suit is open cell and the brown camo suit is open cell with titanium coating similiar to the gloves.

I bought a 5mm Mundial camo from jim, and I can spend 5 hours+ in 12 degrees and not get cold. It is rediculously comfy and as soon as a put a little weight back on it'll fit me even better. (The beaver tail is a little loose and the chest and shoulders coz I havent been eating properly and training, but in a few weeks it'll be spot on.) I highly recommend the suit!!!

Hello!

I'm quite busy to get some lighter suit than my 5 mm Elios taylos made is. Can't wait for two months or something to get taylor made suit, so I'm planning to get Bueuchat reversible 3,5 mm.

Beuchat Reversible [Reversible] - $169.95 : The Freediving Store

Mainly I'd use it for CNF (and probably CWT too) when doing my pb dives and close. This suit atleast looks very cool, but how good is it when diving down to 30 - 40 m with water temperature 12 - 8 degrees??? Any experiences to share? Any alternative no-custom made suits for this?

The camo and the Competition have he same cut. Some of the camo had the silver lining but they are moving away from that. My understanding is all the suits in the near future will just be open cell black neoprene inside.

I have used the equipe andf the prestige, but I prefer the Comp/Camo cut for myself which I find a very good fit for myself.

Sorry for the typo everyone, what I meant was Prestige and Equipe.

Apparently from my having stated in this thread that "a lot of aussies find it less expensive to buy Beuchat gear from me and have it shipped down" an australian Beuchat dealer (who most likely has outragously high prices even for Australia) has sent an email complaining about my store.

This person, of which I have no idea who it is, lied to Beuchat and stated that I am advertising in Australia and Europe!!! I don't even advertise here in the US!!! Here is an exerpt of the email I received:

"Dear Jim,

I am contacting you because we received complaints from major distributors about your online sales at around their wholesale prices.

It seems you advertise in Australia and also targets European markets with French language options.

You are free to sell on the USA territory but not outside. Whenever we have a large distributor they are granted with an exclusive distribution contract for their country and we cannot accept sales from your store, even online sales, out of the USA market............................."

Here is an exerpt of my response:

"It appears you have received complaints that are not 100% accurate. I have never or at anytime advertised my goods in Australia or to any french language European markets. I have never marketed any of my goods anywhere other than the USA.

Some Australians in the past couple of months have discovered my website on the internet and ordered some Beuchat products from "The Spearfishing Store", however I was unaware that I am precluded from ever shipping orders to Australia. From here forth The Spearfishing Store will not honor Australian orders requesting Beuchat equipment."

So for the few aussies who have contacted me in the past and purchased gear, I am now precluded from filling your future Beuchat orders. Thank you, good luck, and if there are any other product brands I can assist you with I will always be here to help with great pricing and ultra fast shipping.

What does it matter, the customer was looking for the best price and obviously found it so what wrong with that. Who got offended? What's wrong with competitive pricing on the open market?

I may be able to offer some insight as to why the aussie retailers might be getting there backs up. You see our pain in the arse government seems to think that it's ok for them to have stupid taxes on everything and anything, for example import tax. Now I'm not saying they shouldn't have a tax but what drives me up the wall is that 60 Minutes and A Current Affair will bitch and moan about people not buying australian owned this and australian made that or even worse buying from overseas. They seem to think that joe blow is the problem and the reason why the small business over here can't make a buck, when in actual fact its' the government screwing us all over because they need to tax everything and anything they can possibly get there grubby little mits on. To buy a Beuchat 5mm 2 piece camo wetsuit over here from a shop you will spend anywhere from $550-$700 depending on how much they want to rip you off, but even the retailer and the wholesaler gets ripped the way the government tax. I refuse to buy alot of my gear from shops over here because I simply can't afford it, and why the hell shouldn't I be able to shop around for the best price even if it means I'll need to shop offshore. Now I love the beuchat gear and think it's really top notch. But why should I spend 2 weeks pay to buy the stuff over here when Jim who never approached me and was refferred to me by another deeperblue member from the states I believe can sell me the same wetsuit and have it shipped to my door for almost half the price. I realise that it's not really the retailers fault but come on guys, surely you'd rather sell 100 wetsuits with 20%mark up than only 20 wetsuits with a 100% mark up? turn over over mark up that's how I was always taught to tun a business buy some one very wise and successfull. Jim if I can't buy my beuchat gear from you I'd rather settle for something a little lower quality wise but know that I'm still getting good service a the right price than shop somewhere else. It's Beuchats loss and I guess mine to in a way.
Any way enough of my rambling.
Oh P.S. Our goverment has almost a 100% tax on petrol. Why not have a flat 40c a litre tax and allow us to live a little more comfortably. They are not really gonna lose out if the price of oil increases, they're only gonna screw us more!

Newbie over and out!

I agree with you on the big picture to fix it, but if it was me I would order from whoever is offering the cheapest price and go about my whether it be this Jim guy or someone else. Why should you have to pay for your gov't mistake, I'm not saying its right but I would prefer to have the best gear at the lowest price (call me crazy) but that is the capitolist side of my and I'm from the USA where competition is good for pricing.

I have dropped the guts out of prices in New Zealand now and then, and although I agree it's better to sell more with less margin, I am quite often dissapointed with the response when I have top class product on very much discounted rate and still get very little response. Especially in New Zealand where Beuchat does not have the same profile as some other countries. And to put it into context of just how much more we pay here in New Zealand and Aus. If you didn't have to pay freight from the like of Scubastore and subprof then it would be cheaper to buy from them than from our own importers. Which is not having a dig at the importers but more a case of by the time product makes it's way to our front door, it's quite pricy. and lets face it if we have to keep it in stock we pay interest on it. Part of our margin is for the interest we paid on borrowed funds to purchase it in the first place.
