Apeks XTX100 or 200

Hi,

I would like to buy a new Regulator, I heard that this brand is producing fine regulators. After using sherwood brut regulator, what was a really bad one(feels like breathing after a 100 m race), I would like to buy some real good one now.

Can you recommend me Apeks XTX 100 or 200 which one should I prefer, are there other brands that you can recommend me.

Hi there,

Apeks definitely is a fine reg to use. I never had any problem with nay of mine and never heard of anyone having problems.
If I were you I'd go for a DS4 first stage with (A/C/whatever)TX40 or (..)TX50 second stage whatever is cheaper. The internal stuff is basically the same with all of these they just have different designs. You don't really need the adjustment stuff of the TX50+ series anyway. The only difference apart from that is that - so I heard - the TX200 series has a changeable high pressure seat so you could repair that part if it fails. But for the money of one TX200 you can probably get 2 DS4 firsts.

Just my 2 cents worth.
