Hi all,
the second stage of the AA Trophy will take place in the beautiful waters of Salina island (Eolie, Italy) on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October.

The event is entirely devoted to the most charming among the deep free-diving disciplines: the Constant Weight. According to AA decision, participants would have the opportunity to compete in the following three categories:
- Constant Weight with Monofin (CWM)
- Constant Weight with Fins (CWF)
- Constant Weight No-Fins (CWN)

The day before the start of the contest, Friday 15 October, will be dedicated to training.

SAFETY
AA is proud to announce that a REVOLUTIONARY, BRAND NEW deep dive safety system will be introduced and used for the very first time at this contest.

ACCOMODATION
A special offer will be granted to all the attendees – 20% discount on price list – by a local association of tour operators: the "SALINA ISOLA VERDE" (Salina Isola Verde - Associazione Albergatori di Salina). Please specify the participation to the event, in order to be eligible for the discount.

Hello Aber,

there is a limit indeed, it has been fixed to 150m :). Hope this will not limit you ;)

Regards

Francesco

Great organisation and beautiful place for freediving..... and a great job by AA staff for the new safety sytem that will be presented in Lignano Sabbiadoro during the Europe Evolution Cup.
We wait for you.....

150m!! That's great. Do you have to go far out with a boat to get that kind of depth?

I ask this because I would be very interested in going to Italy for a depth competition. It's my favourite country for vacation. However, it has been difficult to find somewhere to combine vacation with deep freediving in Italy. I usually go to Onlyone in Sharm. But my family don't want to go there. It's a long trip and the food makes me sick :-( Not suitable for small kids. Italia is another story :inlove

Unfortunately, this great announcement of your competition gives me way to little time to plan such a trip from Scandinavia. October is also a difficult month workwise for me. Will this be an annual event in the future?

Also, do you know of any place in Italy suitable for depth training and preferably also with local organizers? I would love to have somwhere to go with my family for vacation and do some depth training as well.

Cheers,
Erlend

Not so far, but it's not the Bahamas Blue Hole......:t

..well... we are working just for this! After some years Apnea Academy is come back with his Trophy, we hope we can organize about 10/15 outdoor and indoor competition every year!

Also, do you know of any place in Italy suitable for depth training and preferably also with local organizers? I would love to have somwhere to go with my family for vacation and do some depth training as well.
...in which Region/Town do you want to go?

...SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH!!!!!

The region does not matter. The whole of Italia is interesting. But of course, the more beautiful and the more children friendly the better (beach suitable for smaller kids). I am grateful for any advice you might have. It must be easy to organize depth training in the 60-80m range, ideally accessible from the shore.

I see that you are based in Sardegna. Maybe Alghero and in posession of a sail boat? I think we met briefly and talked about going diving when me and my wife were there in June 2007. We never made it, though. I got a tip about you from Will T. when we met him in St. Teresa before we went to Alghero.

I'm from Cagliari, south Sardinia, but same beautiful sea like Alghero or Santa Teresa!
AA Instructor with a sail in Alghero is Michele Piga.
In Sharm did you know Riccardo Mura at Only One?? He's come back in Sardinia now
If you will choose our Region for your next travel in Italy.... contact me, we will go with other friends to training in constant weight...
and Sardinian food is very, very interesting..... .:friday

If you choose other place, you can contact some other AA Instructor at this link Apnea Academy Official Web Site

See you soon in Italy!!

I know Riccardo pretty well. I have dived with him in Sharm every year since 2006. Thanks a lot for your replies and useful information. Sardegna is definitely somewhere we would love to go back to.

I will get in touch if we decide to go to Italia next summer!

A presto,
Erlend
