apnea - any other use?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
there is more of him on another thread too Eric. You will see he dives exhale or at least FRC. At least the cut of him surfacing shows an immediate inhale, and his easy descent implies same.

Which thread might that be? Not sure what to search for.

In fact there are about 20 threads with the video here on DB. The one with the wooden goggles was one of them, but there was another one rather interesting. Let me a minute and I'll find the thread.

As someone who has extensive experience working in/on the built environment I have frequently practiced breath holds in a variety of situations on construction projects.
- Cutting (with power tools) materials that produce clouds of toxic fine particulate matter.
o Particularly applicable when working outdoors with a slight breeze; otherwise sometimes I have made a cut in one room and moved cut piece to another room before breathing.
- Venturing into an area that is rapidly off gassing a recent (minutes/hours previous) application of dangerous chemicals (lacquer etc.)
- Other applications that are eluding my present thoughts – perhaps I should have practiced breath holding more and breathed less of…

I just fell on a job where apnea skills may show pretty handy:

ROFL Trux!

- I'm not sure I'll sleep well now..

But I think the person is maybe cheating, there goes a hose up under the 'raincoat'.
Did the elephant not object? , you know one little leg gesture, or fart would be enough

You can judge for yourself Eric:

Nobody mentioned escaping from a fire or saving someone else from a fire.

Travelling by bus long distance last summer I was struggling to stay away and didn't want to miss my stop. A couple of empty holds woke me up completely.

It's also fun to bet friends while at the pool to see who can hold their breath the longest. For the next round of shots or whatever you want... My statics are only 2:30 ish but that's about 2 minuets longer then most people I know. The last time i did that, my buddy ended up lifting me out of the water around the 2 mark because he thought i passed out . I opened my eyes, gave a smirk and went under another 20 or so seconds. I could hear everyone from the surface lauhing their asses off. With that being said, I only do this in the beginning of the day and not while intoxicated....I'm crazy, but not stupid.

It's a good friend you have!

I also use freediving principles in teaching young pupils how to swim and be underwater with ease and comfort.

Naw it wasn't like that. They tapped my right side and I gave a RH thumbs up but it wasn't completely out of the water. Everyone but he saw it, he had his face kind of in the water and was on my left. He was just pissed he had to get next round.

Getting out of a helicopter upside down in the sea if it ditches.......assuming you survive the crash! ;-) Not experienced it personally but it does cross my mind every 2 weeks....
