ApneaCountDown New Android app

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Unfortunately its incompatible with my old phone, but it locks fancy. So I have no experience of it..
If you have tested both I would be glad for any feed back.

I'll try the one that you mentioned in the first post but just looking on the screen shots I prefer this two circles counting the time for ventilation and apnea time together with the voice and vibration info so you don't have to look at the screen.

I'm the developer of ApneaCountdown. Thats why I'm interested whats good and bad.
The display is mostly for create/load/save sequences. During training I use the voice. On competitions you can load warmup sequence and set your top time. Also have a synchronize function to event time. On my first competition I use exel for my varmup and printed out a timing sequence.... It was then I started working on my app.

Your app is a bit sophisticated or some may say complicated. It looks like it was developed in some specific purpose...now I know what, competition warm-up...now I can kinda understand the way the apnea (breath hold) times and relax (ventilation) times are input. I miss a bit a nice visual side and there is too much disturbing talking in the background.
The app is good for the purpose you described but just for doing CO2 and O2 training tables it is overkill. One point I find your app better than the one mentioned by me is that it counts down the time.
I hope this opinion is any use for you.

Tanks allot, all feed back is to use. Working just now on a repeat the last x step for x times.... Just to make Co2 and o2 sequences easier to create and maintain. When I find out how to deliver sequences files when installing the app, there will be some examples files. I know the visual side lacks allot, but now I'm working on the functions mostly. You could turn off shouter function (silent) and the voice telling whats next (Tell Next) in each step. I wanted the shouter function just for train the same way as on competition. Under Menu/repeat you could select "DontStop". Then run warm-up sequence and it takes your time after final top.

Valle-- I downloaded your program and gave it a go. I was having a hard time navigating the interface and creating a session. I do think if you could smooth out the user interface and have a program that allows you to build sessions in a text editor, you could really be on to something. I use Apnea Tables. Personally I am not interested in fancy displays or graphics, but ease of use is important. I like Apnea Tables because it is very easy and simple to use, but a bit limited (always defaults to a session of 8 hold/rest periods).

Thanks for the feed back. In a near future (i hope) when I have all the basic function in place, I have to write a small manual. You could try to write sequences offline now.
Name a file ex. "AnyName.ApneaCD" put it on SD card in folder ApneaCountdown.
Write "What to do;seconds;x;y"
where x= 0 shouter counts down,1= silent. Y= 0 No tell next, 1= Tells what next exercise are.
example below.

Relax;30;0;1
Stretch to right;30;0;1
Relax;10;0;1
Stretch to left;30;0;1
Relax;15;0;1
Hold on empty lungs;45;0;1

In the popup window for edit exercise you can quickly add new exercises by pressing "New-v". It inserts a new exercise, and copy the exercise before. So if you have "1 Relax 30" and "2 Hold 30" and then press "New-v" it creates "3 Relax 30". Adjust time and press "New-v" and it creates "4 Hold 30s". And so on. And you can see the sequence build up below the popup window.
In next version the edit row is yellow and are scrolled in view.
In current version the edit row is mark by an >.
Pleas keep me posted whats god or bad.

In the edit exercise popup window. Using the "^" and "v" buttons saves exercise and steps to previous/next exercise. If you don't want to save the change there's only the "Esc" button.

Hello. Finally I upgraded to a new phone, Galaxy S3 and my app wasn't working as it did on my old phone. So now I corrected the faults (i hope). Also added some examples files to download. Use menu/more/websamples. The web site opens, click on example file for download. Exit, load file using menu/load click on downloads. If you make your own sequences just name them anyname.ApneaCD.txt and attach them to an email and send to phone, or transfer them by usb cable. For syntax see samples files on ApneaCountdown
