Just a quick heads up for a documentary that some of you might find interesting:
Scars of evolution: A documentary by David Attenborough about the rise of the aquatic ape theory. It's currently available via Radio 4's Listen Again service. Real Audio streams for the two programmes are linked at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/science/scarsofevolution.shtml
Apnea is mentioned briefly, although the reserachers are clearly behind the times: David Attenborough tells us that humans beings can hold their breath for "6, 7, even 8 minutes!"
