its amazingly smooth and heavy

that looks like a tiger cowrie to me.

very nice, did you find it in the water or on the beach?

i found it diving at night in 2m of water .... so is a tiger cowrie a type of cone shell or just errrr a cowrie

because from what i know cone shells can kill you

the anemone or the clownfish?

have had my fingertips nipped by many a clownfish they can be quite agressive and territorial!

the anemone's sting, but are easily avoidable. only time I've been stung is when trying to wrestle a hamour out of a hole

heheheheh i really liked the clownfish there real brave they kept attacking the camera ...... and i didnt know that the thing they were hiding in is posinous :S

some sting, some don't. not really toxic, more of an anoyance, like the white jellies in the gulf. best to assume they all sting and just avoid them

not all cones are poisonous, but feel safe to feel that most are in case you aint sure.. check this small write up.

the geographer cone shell is the most toxic i believe. cowries are a different shape to cones and in the old days were used for money

mooooney u say ??? ........ i start the bidding at $500 .. going once

talking about things that sting there is a WHITE plant that grows on reefs at first i didnt know what was stinging me but then i noticed everytime i got stung it was there its sting is just like a jellys but it stays for alot longer up to a week :crutch
...... its a lil plant with white balls on its branches." just a warning to guys that skindive in shorts among reefs "
