Are these fins alright??

Hey, im a 17 year old just starting freediving, and these are some fins that i got for my birthday. Im going to be using them anyways, they seem really good, but would these be preferable for freediving??

You can use them, ofcourse. But preferable for freediving are longfins (like these, for example). Longfins are the most efficient to get down and up fast.

Those are scuba fins. They will work, to a point, but maybe you could trade them into the shop where they came from for a pair of these instead:

This is a real freediivng fin made by the same company and would work a whole lot better for freediving.

Jon is right about the apneology fins made by Mares. If you are residing in the U.S. then you would need to seek out these fins. They are the same although branded Sporasub. Sporasub is our freediving and spearfishing division of Mares. We don't sell the Apneology line in the U.S.
