Wondering how to attach the floatline to the shaft.....is it just straight from the float to the shaft? Kind of seems dangerous that it might not have enough slack or something like that....Any insight on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Most break away systems that I have seen have a double wrapped section of heavy mono or even cable. The end of the "shooting line" as it is commonly reffered to, has a loop that is attached to the line release by a short section of bungie. A large tuna clip (attached to the float line) is clipped to the loop of shooting line.

When the gun is fired the shaft is attached to the float and the gun is free.

Shaft-shooting line-clip-float line-float or:

Shaft-shooting line-clip-poly line-bungie-float or just about as many combos as you can think of.

Hope this helps.
