Attn:anyone else that has a Cressi gun

Question for you guys...

I just got my Geronimo elite in the mail. I haven't had experience with the vertical style of line release that cressi uses...I noticed that when I have it rigged up, and pull the trigger, the line release does not automatically disengage because of the tension on it from the mono.

Is this the same with your guns? Will everything work out alright once the gun is actually fired? I'm really hoping so...

Also...(Those that have a Geronimo)... anyone had problems with the reel? This is my first time using one, and the mount seems pretty flimsy.

I'm sorry that I can't help much as I don't have such gun. I've only seen it in a shop and fired once a friend's Gerry in the water: no such issues.

Maybe your spearline is cut too tight? Could be, I don't know.

Here in pic below is how it's supposed to be mounted (disengage vertically when the trigger is pulled?). You might inspect your mech to check if it's assembled properly...

Don't try to change anything. Just check if the mech is correctly assembled.

I had that on my beauchat once, i just lengthened the line a tad and that sorted it for me.

Thanks for the help... I took it apart, and everything seems assembled right. Maybe it is just the design, as it uses gravity to fall, rather than the trigger pulling it down when pulled. It is still doing the same thing. If I dont have pressure on it from the line it will fall immediately like it is supposed to. Thats why I was hoping someone else with the gun could hopefully ease my mind by saying that is how it is.

Well get it wet and shoot it. It is a worldwide best seller gun and it works fine for K's of spearos . Just give it a go and see what happens ...

I have the same gun, didn't use it in the water yet but played a bit with it, and it release the line loop with no problem. I noticed that when the shaft is not loaded this metal trigger falling down with a little finger touch, and if it's loaded it stick out firmly. make sure you load it correctly.
