Dear Spearos,

A while back, Florida diver, Rob Murphy was tragically struck by a boat while diving, resulting in the loss of both legs from the knee down. Sadly, he continues to require additional medical treatment to relieve the immense pain and he is experiencing some serious financial hardships.

Learning of Rob's situation, the guys at SpearfishingPlanet.com decided to help out by asking various companies such as MAKO Spearguns to donate gear for auction so as to help Rob with his mounting medical expenses.

There are a lot of cool items from top name manufacturers being auctioned, including a spearfishing trip with World Record Holder, Cameron Kirkonnell.
The guys at SpearfishingPlanet.com will be giving 100% of all proceeds directly to Rob.

Please take a moment to view this thread to learn more about Rob, his accident, the difficult situation he is in, and how you can help.

I want to thank you spearos for taking time to read this and I want to thank the guys at SpearfishingPlanet.com for their efforts. This is just another example of why we shoot fish.

Dive safe,
Dano

I got this email from Dano, owner of Mako Spearguns. I thought it was really neat and shows the integrity and community of this sport. There are some nice items on here so take a look. Pass on the word!

Peace

I've followed Rob's story on spearboard and am just chiming in to bump the thread at this point!

I'm also familiar with rob's accident. Hang in there Rob! My prayers go out to him.
