Hey this summer I'll be travelling around Europe with my speargun. I haven't been before and I was wondering if there is anything I should know in regards to spearguns and the law/police. Like, I'm pretty sure spain, italy and france must alright, but what about germany where spearfishing is illegal? Croatia and eastern Europe? Do I need to worry about being stopped and questioned about what I'm carrying esp. at airports, borders and the like?

any help / comments much appreciated!

oh and any info about fishing licenses for specific countries is appreciated too, though I'll make sure to look it up specifically for any country where I'm going to spear. - cheers

Yeah, just don't point it at anyone...unless they're a big, tastey fish!rofl

will do johnny - where abouts are you based? Really excited, just booked my ticket, flying into Barcelona 15th June:)

but what about germany where spearfishing is illegal

You can travel with it, no problem, as long you're not going to a cinema, theater or a concert with it !
You can own a speargun here, but you not allowed to use it, !!:duh
To avoid useless delays, I recomend to unsrew your gun, having only parts, while you traveling and if somebody ask you at the customs.
You move both hands up and down and say "fishing" :t
greetz

thanks for the info - as I'll be flying in and out of germany via frankfurt, I think I'll try and store it at the airport, cheers
