So while using my OMER invictus hf 90 that has 2x 14mm bands i noticed bad penetration of the speargun. So im thinking about getting 2x 16mm bands (one 49cm and the onter 52cm). My speargun has a 6.5 pole btw. I ordered 2x 16mm elastics abd im wondering should i do 1x 14mm 1x16mm or 2x 16mm and will 2x16mm be to powerfull (I doubt). ???Thank you:)))

I would think adding a 16 mm band or bands would be too powerful for that gun if you're planning to run two bands. How thick is your spear shaft? Have you thought of running a single flopper and a shorter shaft?

Perhaps you could shorten your 14mm bands a bit.

Alternatively are you using bulk rubber? Rather than screw-in rubbers? They are usually longer and less hollow and so more powerful.

Another option: 1x19mm or 20mm or 3/4"?? I find that harder to load but not uncommon.

Surprised 2x 14mm not powerful enough but depends on what you are doing and where.

A single 16mm should work ok but might not be more powerful.

Depends on how far is your target. Presently, I am using a mares sniper pro 90 with a single 16 mm band. I have no problem with penetration as long as the target is within the range. Try establishing the max range first of your speargun. That way you can adjust later. Usual targets here in Med are amberjacks, dentex and cuddas. Reefing you can find sargo (common sea bream), brown meager and dusky groupers, which, if not stoned, could give you quite a fight while inside their lair.:LOL::LOL:

So i placed 2 16mm bands at 300% sigal (extreme) at it works like a charm, i hit a bream at 5 meters, penetration is crazy and the recoil is almost non existent, :) thank you
