Band size question?

Hey guys, I'm new to these forums so if I'm posting in the wrong section please direct me to the correct place.

So, I've always been a fan of spearfishing and I've recently just got myself some new gear, not the best but the most I could afford for now.

I bought a Beuchat Marlin Elite 950 speargun and I wanted to increase the power of the gun, without effecting accuracy as much as possible.
Everything I have on the gun is what came with it from the factory, an 18.3mm Megatonne powerband (67cm), Tahitianwishbone and 6.7mm stainless steel Tahitian shaft.

The band was in the nearest slot to the trigger.

Can someone please help me get the best out of my gun? 2 bands? what size, length?

dYou really should leave it along and focus on technique. The gun has plenty of power. You will likely degrade accuracy and power if you add a band.
Work on technique. Spend morte time in aspetto, quietly lying on the bottom, letting fish come to you.

Yeah I agree.

Should i loosen the open end? They are currently quite tight, should I loosen it slightly or loosen it altogether making the spear free (will be held by the cord only)?

What advantages/ disadvantages will there be?

You can loosen the muzzle a little if its' tight. If you open it too much the spear will rattle around while diving, and may lose accuracy. If you open it all the way you will have to figure out how to get the shooting line to hold the spear down at the muzzle
Open muzzles have either a notch that the shooting line goes into and then over the shaft and down in front of the muzzle that will keep the spear in place, or they install a pin into the muzzle that doews the same thing. Lots of photos out there
