Bat 25 compared to Cressi 2000HF - Need opinions

I just bought a pair of Omer Bat 25 Med Mimetic online without ever having tried them on. Got a special deal.

Using the Cressi 2000HF as bench mark fins, how do the Bats compare up to depths of 35M?
 
You'll probably find them more responsive as they are fiberglass. You'll see when you get them and try them on!

Jim, how much do you weigh and how tall are you? What depths do you like to dive on average where you would be using these fins? What's your comfort zone in other words? these are all important considerations in choosing a freediving fin.

OK.

Height: 5'11"

Weight: was 190, but have rid myself of body fat recently and am now 172.

Depth: max depth is 30M, but I have the Performance Freediving Clinic on November 19-22, and Kirk believes I will get down to 40M with training

Location: mainly Palm Beach and the rest of southeast Florida

Use: 50% freediving and 50% spearfishing

Hey Jim,

Hmmmm... :hmm Well, based on your body size and your diving preference I would say that if you're training and aiming to dive deeper then the Bat 25's will not give you the adequate stiffness and power to use in the sub 25/80ft+ depth you're going for.

Reason is, the blade is flexible. If you weighed 150lbs it would probably be fine for deep diving for you too. However, considering for example I'm 190-195lbs and if I were going for depth I would use the C4 40's or Bat 40's, since you weigh a bit less (20 pounds is quite a difference) I would think a 30 stiffness rating like the C4 30's, the new Rekord 3's, or the Bat 30's would help you in achieving your goals.

In the performance freediving clining they'll probably tell you the C4's are the way to go since those guys are big fans of C4 and carbon fiber for their stuff but considering you do mostly spearfishing I would not rule out the BAT 30's.
You can beat them up more and performance is more like carbon and considerably more abuse-able.

The Ice fins will be ideal for <60ft of diving, kind of like the BAt 25's.

Well, I am someone who prefers what others consider unreasonably stiff fins. I may use these for shallow water fun or offer them up to someone else.

I hope they consider making an Ice 40. I will contact you after the clinic for you assistance on another pair, probably the C4's.
