:( Well shortly after the end of that video I realized I had my wet suit on and decided to jump in. Handing my camera to Anneko I was in the water in no time and eventually had a dolphin come right in front of me while I was watching underwater. Anneko had the video going the whole time as the camera bounced at her side. Apparently in the excitement she forgot to operate the camera. So the video every once in a while has a little something but the majority of the time it is just sound and video flying all over the place. ;)

Ah sorry my mind was one-tracked on your previous question. I do have a couple other videos but my digital camera only does 288x208 resolution for video, so it is mainly useful for larger objects. I will see if there is anything else interesting and maybe I can post them. However, to see the marine life of the area, have a look at the photography section of my diving web site:

Cheers,

I have several videos of recreational dives I did at Mozino point (Tahsis), using Tyler's camera. They show the incredible marine life down there around 30m. However, I don't have a high bandwidth host to put them on!

Yes I was thinking of those Eric. I will convert them to a better compression format and put the links up.

By the way I was there with the boat the other day and a huge sea-lion was thrashing fish there. One after another he was arriving at the surface with fish over 2 feet long. In the boat it takes maybe 15 min to arrive at Mozino and if we go during slack tide we will have much better success diving there. Can't wait.

Here is some other video footage in the Tahsis area.

Awsome! if you have any more i would love to see them. Were you freediving?
cya

Yes all photos and videos have been done freediving... well except the odd photo out of water. ;)

Nice videos Tyler. Get a feel for what your waters and sea life are like. Seems you have lots of starfish and white sponges! I couldn't figure out what the first shot of the "curious seal checking me out" video is. Is it a crab or some sort of crustacian? Do some more and show the above water landscape as well, I like seeing the general environment. sometimes it can be just as dramatic as the underwater shots.

Adrian

Thanks adrian! For more of the sea life and atmosphere, check out the photos section of my website at http://quietdeep.com

A little bit of lots from above and below.

In that video it was a large "red rock crab". They grow to about 19cm across the carapice. At least I have caught them that big, whereas the references say they grow to 15cm. I still have the shells to prove it. ;)

Great Vids! making me "Coast Sick". been far too long since I've done any diving on the island.

THANKS
