Level 1 Instructor

Inspire students! This course introduces students to the basic fundamentals of freediving.
FII Level 1 Freediving Instructors are trained to competently teach students, utilizing the FII Level 1 Teaching Materials, to dive safely and confidently to a maximum depth of 66 feet/ 20 meters and hold their breath for a maximum time of 3 minutes.

Instructor Prerequisites
In order to qualify for the FII Level 1 Instructor examination, the following qualifications must be met:
1. Be a certified F.I.I. Level 1 Freediver
2. Be certified in F.I.I. Advanced Freediving Safety
3. Provide a current valid CPR, First Aid and Oxygen Provider certification
4. Be at least 18 years old or older
5. Be a certified F.I.I. Assistant Instructor
6. To be of excellent medical and physical condition with above average swimming skills and display excellent watermanship skills.

Equipment You Will Use
Freediving suit, low volume mask, snorkel, rubber weight belt, weights,
long blade freediving fins

Course Duration
Level 1 course – 2 days
Advanced Freediving safety course – 1 day
Assistant Instructor course – 4 days
Level 1 Instructor Exam – 2 Days
Note: The Advanced Freediving Safety and Assistant Instructor courses are one time certification courses and do not need to be repeated if already attained- unless expiration occurs.
