Hi ; I'm new to the forum. Have been a scuba diver for 25 years but have come to realize that the true water person is the free diver.MY only problem at this initial level is the equalization of my ears without the use of pressurized air.I haven't yet heard of tecniques that I can adopt to practice with. I'm hoping to get from the more experienced divers some suggestions. Stephen
 
Welcome to DB! The technique is basically identical (well, there are more complicated techniques for really deep dives though). The air in the lungs of a freediver is pressurized to exactly the same pressure as at a bubble-diver. If a bubble-diver's lungs were over-pressurized he'd suffer a barotrauma similarly as would a freediver if he had under-pressure in the lungs. The pressure of the air in the lungs is practically always pretty equal to the pressure of the environment.
