Hey guys,

My brother in law just bought a fishing boat so we are planning on getting into some UW hunting. That said, I am looking for some suggestions as to what kind of speargun(s) I should look into purchasing.

I am based out of the North East (Massachusetts) but most of my time in the water will be in Newport, RI so we are talking cold water with generally low visibility. Dont know exactly what kind of game we will be going for, anything that tastes good I guess, and we wont be venturing far off the coast anytime soon either. I am a certified diver, my brother in law is not so something that we could both use under either situation would be a plus!

Just getting into the sport so not looking to drop a lot of money but I still want something that will make the experience enjoyable. Thanks in advance.

And for the search nazis (there is always one) I searched on "northeast"

Ya ya! Spraken de spearfishing?? Use the bloody search button for "Northeaster" or some better results rofl

Seriously that gun isn't the cheapest but it is great value, you'll be able to sell it no worries with less loss than most guns and it has a lifetime warranty. It was designed for just your needs bro

YA YA SPRAKEN DE SPEARFISHING,10 MILLION DOLLAR PMSL
you just can't buy it now rofl:crutch:friday:fridayrofl

arrr i dont know shit all son but i got a 130(cm) and an 110 railgun and there bloody nice to shoot the enemy with arrrrrrh!

in shit vis and then having the possibilty that it might get good vis sometimes, mabey an 120 with 2x16mm rubbers? meh let the pros answer it :p

42 inch wong northeaster... Trust the man.
Or a relatively sized gun, the worse the visibility is, the smaller of a gun you want.

Aloha GMA789,

The 42 in Northeaster was specifically designed for your area. I first made it for Northen cal and its bad vis and then for Anne Doherty who proceeded to win three national womens championships with that gun. Then Brandy Easter won two womens' titles with her Northeaster on the west coast.
I'll be in Rhode island for our 2008 national championships and guess what I will be using. Yup, a 42 northeaster.

The nice thing about the gun is that because of the handle placement you have the length and range of a 90cm gun yet forward of the handle you have the length of a 65 cm gun. It is like having two guns in one. Great for the low vis yet enough power for the big stripers that may cruise by.

I'm donating a gun for this years nationals to be raffled or auctioned off and guess what gun?
If you want to see a few northeasters, come on by Aug 6th at Kings beach Rhode island. If you can't make it check out this gun.
Heres the 2009 raffle gun.

Aloha,Daryl
