I am just now getting in to the whole freediving and spearfishing thing, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good freediving watch for beginners that is not too expensive? Preferably one that would last me a while even once I start getting more and more into the freediving.

Isn't that the one that comes with dead batteries - don't work??
Chandler I'd wait to get a depth gauge/watch, first get a good low volume mask (40 bucks) and a decent pair of fins (70 for plastic), a good wettie (100-150), weight belt (40-50), take an apnea course (100-200), dive dive dive (free-free-free)
Then if you're still into freediving a good quality second-hand watch will cost about as much as a cheap new one and work miles better. I'm using the Cressi Edy, found one for about €150 which is half what it costs new, very happy with it. Before that I tried a G-shock which I got for about 60 bucks second hand but the depth was always about 1m off and the battery would go into crisis mode quite often, bit of a pain.
