hello in Puerto Rico I can not find free diving courses. I can hold my breath for 3:30 minutes static and swim 120ft underwater in the pool. but I can only get 30-40 ft down in the ocean and swim like 20-30ft underwater. Why this dramatic change between the pool and the ocean. Any suggestion or tips

Thanks.

Sorry for the bad English here we speak Spanish

Hey, did anyone answer you yet? Maybe pm? Have you searched anything on the forum?

Nop no answer. I found some tables and start to practice them. But cant find why the drastically change from the pool to the ocean.:waterwork:waterwork

Okej I understand.

Btw you're English is fine :)

Well, the differences between the ocean and the pool is a LOT. First of all when u swim dynamics in the ocean, the waves, and currants always interfere with the gliding and concentration. Naturally this makes it harder to swim dynamics in the ocean.

To be able to swim deep is a whole other matter than dynamics. You body has to cope with doing some hard kickings to get deeps where it starts to get easier, this burns oxygen. Also pressure from the ocean deeps are affecting you almost directly, you also need to equalize correctly, also the stress levels are often higher. As you can see the list can be made long. And there are several thing I don't write now.

Happily, there are several ways of practicing this to get better at deep diving, and luckily I'am going do a BIG tutorial on this and much more on my YouTube channel! I'm already working on it and part 1 should come out soon.

Hope my post helps you a little bit. You can see my channel below. Subscribe if you can so you will be up to date when I release the videos.

Be safe and have a great weekend freediver friend!

Best regards Youbuur

Relaxation may be the key to your problem. Spending time in the ocean will help if it is.

Roberto Reyes is the only Puerto Rican freediver I know of. As around in teh dive shops to find him.

Roberto Reyes is a very well known Apnea "freediver" instructor in Puerto Rico, and I must add he is quite talented and an amazing human being; this is his number (787) 579-8150, he also has a Facebook page and many awesome videos freediving and spearfishing in Youtube, look for robertoreyespr. Hope this helps you! Best of luck! :)

Stay in da SeA!

Thanks a lot manage to found some one that knows him. Thanks again

I have a question i started doing co2 tables every day my times raised but not that much. But suddenly decreased max hold was 3:20 sec. I dont went to the pool in 2 days when i return i repeat the 4 minutes easy?

Does my lungs need to rest? Let me clarify its not safe to train every day?

Yes, your body does need rest from time to time. There are a lot of changes going on in it.
