Hello spearos, i'm searching for my first speargun and could use some advice. After a lot of reading, I've decided to go with pneumatic. But my google searches don't turn up much info about all the best models to choose from.

My budget is $350, my hunting grounds are Canadian freshwater lakes and rivers. And i'd like it to have adjustable power, so that I can shoot towards the ground without bending spears. Oh, and a dry-barrel kit would be nice. Just so that I can buy a smaller speargun with the same amount of power.

After a 2hr search, the Salvimar Predathor has caught my eye. Simply because it's cheaper than most, and it comes with a dry-barrel. Good or bad choice?
And plenty of people on these boards recommend Beauchat as a brand, but list no models for me to compare.

So, with $350, which airgun would you buy?

Also, the size of the gun. I have no idea what size to get. I know it's dependent on the clarity of the water and the fish that I hunt, but i'm still lost.

Freshwater lakes & rivers. I'm not sure about clarity, i've never measured the distance and i'm quite new to diving. I plan on starting with Small-mouth Bass, and work my way up to Northern-pike and maybe Carp. I'm not sure how much power is needed for my hunt. I'm not sure which size to get. Maybe i'll make a separate thread for this second question.

Thanks !

Welcome. I'm on the road right now so it'll be short; Yes to the Predathor Vuoto.

Slightly longer: there are more options than that gun but it's still the best value for money. Alternatively, if you wanna spend more; the new version of Mares Evo (blue handle) but it doesn't come with a dry muzzle.

No time for anything more elaborate right now. But nothing has changed on the market in a few years so look at the threads in this forum.

ok thank you. That's kinda what I wanted to hear. I'm tired of reading and researching, I just want to play

The predathor comes with a reel. I don't need a reel. Is it easy to remove and replace with a bungee system? Do I need to buy a separate bungee?
