Hi all - totally new to Spearfishing - live in Plymouth and thought I'd ask anyone in Devon for a bit of advice!

I've been a few times using my mate's gun. Anyway - my new gun arrived today - Cressi Apache 75 cms - with no instructions on how to connect the spear to the gun using the cord provided. To cut a long story short, i now have a fair idea of how to do it, but am unsure as to the best type of knots to use - the guy at Cressi said a reef knot, but I'm leaning towards the bowline - does it matter?!

Thanks for any help.

Alright Dave. I have recently started spearfishing too around Plymouth.

Got plans to go anytime soon?

I used this knot to tie off the cressi comanche 75 (prob same chord).

I loved the know so much I use it quite regularily on the boat and kayak... really good knot!!
