I am building a reef gun and am thinking about a reel what are the best reels
Also price is important but what else do you look for in a reel

I voted for the Rob Allen, there are two types one in SS the other in Carbon Fiber, IMO the Carbon is the best.

But also the Mares reel is very good, the omer match 50 and match 30, the One50 and One80.

There are a huge selection of good reels these days, what a improvement from 5 years ago.

Merou, Maorisub and Amp Sub are the ones with the best reputation in Italy these days.

What do I look for in a reel?
-No fragile parts too easy to break or wear.
-Strong and no-nonsense attachment to connect it to the gun.
-A mechanism that's not too likely to jam (then you never know).
-A build that makes the line not too likely to spool off during action and make stuck the whole damn thing.
-The look of it (especially on beautiful high end guns).

Willoomy for you woody you might look into these ones:

Adding to Spago list.

I look for a reel that will not lock , the old H. Dessault is no no.
Not made with Aluminum, only composite, strong plastic or SS.
Need a line guide, the merou does not - but I would consider.
Adequate volume, the reason I would conside the merou would be for my blue water gun.
Need to have drag control , and the drag control needs to be ergonomic , something easy to grab.
I have a preference for horizontal reels, but the new One reel changed that.

Spago what is the best reel in your opnion ?

I havent' used them all. I've used almost all the Omer's from old Master series to newer Match series, Cressi, old Sporasub, C4 model Mpl. Seatec Techno, Seatec Mini 25, Seatec Energy, Merou Race. Maybe I'm forgetting some but I like best the Seatec Energy, even though I don't have many occasions to use it: it's on my 120, not a gun I shoot everyday.
The Merou though does have a line guide (and is strong and well built):

hard to beat the horizontal maorisub dentex reel in the 50m class.

I have the Seatec Tekno 90m also. Its great and holds a lot of line. The Energy might be better but i havent used it.
