Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
C'mon folks,
I wasnt expecting this kind of response, its just a recipe. I actually thought the beer comment would have been mentioned by now.

@Sealdiver
I am really sorry if I upset you - it was not my intention. It is nothing personal.

My post is for reader X, so he thinks twice before killing any odd shark or ordering shark fin soup in Hong Kong restaurant. As I said, not everyone is marine biologist (you all very well know what the common perception about sharks is). In the current climate of unsustainable human population growth most species are more or less threatened. It is offering my two pence of information and anyone is welcome to update it or to expand on it.

In great majority of topics in this forum you’ll find “do not dive/train alone” warnings repeated over and over again. People here with more experience know this, so why keep repeating? Perhaps for people who do not know, such as beginners/newcomers to DeeperBlue, or perhaps to keep us reminded. And it doesn’t do us any harm, does it? No matter how experienced someone is, not only they are not annoyed by this warning, but they will thank you for your concern.

If anyone here thinks (even testosteron driven Mike :D) “This is a shark recipe, but please be aware” is inappropriate, I shall kindly remove my posts from this topic and you will have “This is a shark recipe”.

Keep the good work. :)

Sealdiver, you reckon people in WA drink too much. Speak for yourself buddy it's lunch time as I type and so far I've only had 1/2 a carton.

Did you have to mention that you bought your shark at a fish shop. You'll only encourage another soap box jockey ranting about eating commercially caught fish.

I always spear my own fish and the bloke in the fish shop is really getting pissed off with me.

i dont spear fish but its better than commercial fishing because it is challenging and it gives fish a chance at escape.
i worked for a fish market for a couple of years and all of the shark we got was farmed.

peace octopus,
i respect what you have said and i am all for creating awareness to envrironmental threats and issues. Thing is though, i love eating fish but never thought eating shark was so taboo. Its at every shop in the area i live i have not yet heard that bronze whalers are in anyway threatened. I dont know if any longlining of gillnetting of bronzies happens by WA companies, i heard it was all farming.

Oh mine, here we go again. Everything is endangered these days, so i dont think a spearfisher catch once in a while could affect the state of the fisheries in some way. To have an animal extinct is quite difficult, i mean biological extinct, what you are talking about is the exctintcion of the resource for the fisheries and commercial use. Lets bann :ban the industrial fishing first, then we can return to our argument .. :ko
