My favorite freediving socks for cold water were:
OMER SOCKS SKIN 5MM M.BARDI
bought at Scubastore

However these are no longer available anywhere. I am having a very hard time finding any good socks in the 5mm to 7mm range.

Can you please share which brand you use, how you like it, and where did you get them?

Mate, only ever used one pair, Cressi's, and I find them to be very nice. We have different temps to you obviously, but comfort wise I like them and I am notoriously picky (annoying, stupid, childish) with my feet and socks/shoes etc.

I am sure you checked already but just in the unlikely case something changed since you posted, these are now showing as in stock from scubastore

(wouldn't particularly recommend any of the socks I used, they're ok but nothing special)

Please clarify. Your link doesn't work. Which socks are now in stock?

Omer Socks Skin 5 mm M.Bardi. Accessories Socks - boots, Scubastore.com, buy, offers, dive

They're the ones that you use right? On my computer at least, they show as 'in stock'.

(actually there's a formatting problem when using Google Chrome with the box where you select the size but I can still see that it says 'in stock')

I was coincidentally looking at the Omer 2012 catalogue today and saw 'Bardi' socks in there (but didn't say M.Bardi) - the photo they had didn't have smoothskin all the way outside though.

Hope this helps.

I've found them here as well - the scubastore problem may be that Mark Labocetta is the exclusive distributor for the us - and maybe canada too. I've burned through a pair of these as well.

OMER Marco Bardi Skin Socks, Socks - ScubasWorld

Scubastore definitely seems to have some geo-location on the pages because it shows the prices in GBP for me so they can tell I'm in the UK.

Anyway if you are really stuck and can't get them any other way tell me and I'll order them for you Eric.

Likewise here - but I think scubasworld probably ships even to the remote reaches of canadia.

You need to understand all the dead links on scubastore.

The socks are one of many. The socks page exists, but the 'add to cart' or 'buy' button is missing. All the dead link pages are missing the add to cart button. So it's unfortunately useless.

Does the 'buy' button actually appear on anyone's computer?

OMER USA

Looks like scubasworld has them though.

I'm sorry to say that Mark's OMER website is useless, since the only way to buy is through the 'dealer locator' which does not work at all and always produces 'no results....' (Even if I enter US zip codes and not Canadian ones)

If I were OMER I would not be happy.

I don't have any problem ordering Omer bardi 5mm. Everything works fine and all sizes available. Probably a technical problem that prevents you from ordering them. I use Firefox, btw.

Maybe they stopped shipping them overseas?

Eric, if you don't solve the problem, I can order some for you and send them along. Just let me know.

For those with a little time in their hands and need for "anatomically correct" socks:
The Pond

This is exactly what i need, i just can't find the socks that fits me as it should, but making them myself will be a problem.
Is there anyone who's making custom made neopren socks (so i can take my measures and order them over the net), that would save me, diving with cold legs is a bitch (i'm currently diving with my 10 years old socks which have more holes than a Swiss cheese because neither of the 2 new pairs of socks i bought fits me).
