I'm thinking about a specra sliptip for my 5/16" tabbed shafts. I'm targetting mackeral rather than tuna, and more likely 30lb than 30kg+ .......
I'm down to Kitto, Mori and Plamen Kolev.
Does anyone have a firm favourite, and if so, why.
Cheers.

Hi Nigler. I own the 3 mentioned tips
if i were to be diving somewere remote or on a long trip , id say the kitto would be your best bet ,, the fact that you can change the spectra by simpliy unscrewing the head and tying a double overhand knot is a big plus

however i recomend you put your kitto tip threw a sand tumbler , to make sure you get rid of all the burs and sharp edges...

I know kitto has a few new tips , but his reefmaster tip with the single flopper is a great tip

I have all three of them too. I agree with Joe about the Spectra being easier to change on the Plamen Kolev, but I think my favorite is still the Mori. I can change the Spectra on that pretty easily. Of course another reason I like the Mori is that its the only one offered in 9/32" diameter, so it makes a nice match for my 9/32" shafts. Of course you would be wanting a 5/16" diameter for your 5/16" shafts.

There are several Kitto tips, and I don't know which one you are looking at.

Just in case you haven't seen them, here are some photos for comparison.

In the first one, the Kitto is at the top, the Plamen is second from the top, and the Mori is at the bottom.

The second photo is the Kitto with flopper.

The third one is the Mori.

Thanks very much gentlemen for your informed replies, appreciate your posting the pics too Bill.
Being in Australia means the issue of shipping, not the cost as such but the 'uncertainty' factor, comes into the equation.
So I think I'll follow your leads and buy one of each type to start with, and see which I prefer.
Cheers.

Thanks for the link, yeah agreed, that will be my choice, best of all possible worlds with that point.
