Hi
12 years ago Ive traded my Speargun equipment for some paintballs guns and since then have been retired, a couple months ago I was bitten again by the fishing fever and started buying again my gear. In the old days a Cyrano 970 was my companion and it keep a par with my fishing in Venezuela.
Because of the usual preys and the zone (oil rigs) I used a 2mm monofilament in the spear and in the reel. We didnt have the dyneema or kevlar lines available at the time.
My concern is that know days with better technologies I suppose there has to be a better line for the reel and Spear. I wont be going to much for oil rigs (were the monofilament kept breaking) but will be open water with pelagics and big groupers. Will a knife cut a 2mm dyneema line in an emergency?
Any advice on what to use would be greatly appreciated. This time Ill be traveling with a 970 cyrano w/reel(has 1.8mm dyneema), an 850cyrano and a 135 Asso with the line to the Float.
Thanks
JC
