Beuchat Mares Wetsuit size

Hi all,

I am quite new in freediving/spearfishing and going to buy my first wet suit. Unfortunatley I am falling a bit between the size categories of different manufactures. My measures are height 185, hip 96,
waist 82, chest 104, weight 78 kg. I would like to go with a Beuchat Marlin Prestige. However, Beuchat size chart states

M
height 176-181
hip 96
waist 84
chest 100
weight 75-80

L
height 181-186
hip 102
waist 90
chest 108
weight 80-85

According to that , an M would fit for hip waist and weight, an L for height
and chest. Moreover, an M would be almost 5 cm to short in length, but an L
for chest 4 cm to wide and for hip and waist 6-8 cm to wide!

Does anyone has experience with the fit of Beuchat suits?

Alternatively I could go with a Mares Instinct which should fit almost perfect in a ML according to Mares size table (height 177-185, weight 70-88, chest 96-109, waist 78-93, hip 96-109)! But is the fit of Mares wet suits as perfect as the size table suggests??

I'm going through a similar thought-process currently. I checked the size tables for several companies and Mares is looking like the best option for me too, albeit for size 6/XL - and, compared to Mares sizes, I am stocky/wide, while divebuddy80 is slim/tall.

My last wetsuit was Elios & made to measure - which was a very reasonably priced option at the time (v. strong pound at the time) - and, as you might expect, it fit very well. The pound sterling has gained some strength against the Euro this year (but fallen against the mighty US dollar) - so might be worth consideration.

BTW Divebuddy80, if you can't get a suit to fit, I think it is probably better to have the legs (& possibly the arms) a little short rather than a little too long, if you plan to use neoprene dive socks & gloves (as I generally do) with it, as they can fill the gap and there will be no excess. On the other hand, if you get sleeves/legs which are too long, I suppose you could just cut them to length but the wrists and ankles of new spearo suits are usually finished with reinforcing stitching ("surged"?) - not sure how critical that is but it might be required to keep the nylon outer fixed in place(?).
