Beuchat Marlin

It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
anymore pics???? definately an interesting muzzle, looks like it has some sort of clamping design to hold the spear onto the barrel while being open muzzle, looks sweet... ugh.. they HAD to wait until i made my mundial shoot perfect

i dont like it! but thats because i dont like open muzzles on euros in general...

hopefully it will have an enclosed muzzle option, from the looks of it, if it doesnt, it might be somewhat easy to make one.. i also am not a fan of open muzzles on euros, just cuz of the whole wrapping proccess, but a semi enclosed, semi open, should be nice

hey fox,
in this last picture it seems that this is the aluminum barrel version with no integrated shaft track,
i like the handle though

somehow i wonder if euroguns are taking a step backwards, let me elaborate before im attacked by saying so.

used to be, a euro shot dead accurate with single bands, perfectly capable for taking fish in those conditions, now i am seeing a swing to double bands for more power, which i have no problem with, but, they are doing away with the inline band pull which has allways made euros so different. american guns, especially the customs, are coming more and more with band elevators to help with recoil, all they are doing with euros is raising the handle up more to help.. but anyways, it definately is a sexy looking gun, i wonder how one of those handles would look fitted to a mahogany barrel.. hmn... i think i'll have to get me a marlin

i dont like the open muzzles for euros, because i feel the thing that makes euros stand out is their accuracy, with the closed muzzle you are guaranteed a force that is in line with the shaft, however with open muzzles, since the bands are always at an angle with the shaft part of that force pushes the shaft forwards the other part pushes it downwards, so compromising part of the power to friction and maybe some accruacy loss.. im no real expert but at least thats what physics would say. I think if you go for bigger fish, multibanded guns, the advantage for a multiband gun would be the additional power, but the slight drop in accuracy wont matter that much as the fish is bigger just my 2 cents

If anyone here in the U.S. is interested in a Marlin please contact me via PM. The Marlin Carbon may very well be the finest gun I have ever handled, however I have not put it in the water as the demo was intentionally not made as a fully functioning unit and has gone back to France. Price for the Carbons is in the mid $300's and the Aluminums are right around the $200 range.

Sorry for the blurry photos, but I discovered I'm having camera problems after numerous attempts at a focused pictures. Here are some previews of the all new "Mundial Camo Green" and "Mundial Elaskin" wetsuits. I cannot begin to tell you how absolutely impressed you will be with the quality of these suits.

Thanks Rob

Rob,

The two suits pictured above are not available just yet. The one you see pictured in the DB store is the "Mundial Camo Brown" which has been out for a while.

Mundial suits fit me excellent and are as comfy as a suit can get! I have only handled these new suits pictured above and they are not my size. I usually wear a size 4 (large) and these two demo suits are size 3 (medium).

thanks for the pics
some points of view
the Euro guns are changing in the time so old-new tech in comming
the open muzzles tech used in lots of guns in the pacific & shown a great
improvment so some wood euro guns get the open muzzle first then OMER
was the first manufactor to put almost all the new line on it picaso also goined
as seatec & C4 also made open muzzle guns!
as we can sea this last year we getting new tech in Euro guns such as
sharkfin shafts
open muzzle
hydro forming tech (HF)
shaft guides all long support
barrels that can handle 2 rubber sets
who take a step to the tech get more options to sell more guns to more expirianced spearos
as for the new generation EURO guns i use one new OMER XXV GOLD
witj open muzzle it is so accurate i could take a niddlefish from 3 m as shown
in the pic , i think i is great to have new tech in guns & improvment
i cant wait to put my hends on my new OMER cayman HF 110 :t
regards
eyal

Not to go too far off topic but where do Beuchat get their Neoprene from? I see Cressi & Sporasub have pretty much the same camo on their suits.

Video of new Beuchat Marlin speargun

There's a video of the Marlin in action here:
Beuchat International
The head is not a 100% open muzzle but something in-between open and close where the shaft is held between 2 retainer springs. It's a great idea I think, kind of like a "berger button" in archery. Apparently the trigger mechanism can hold 290 Kg or 6 times the average load.
