Beuchat Mundial Carbon Elite with 16x2 rubbers anyone?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.

Ok fellaz... this is my favorite setup on this gun so far as far as accuracy and speed... a 6mm shaft with a single short 16mm rubber.. its sooo accurate, soo fast but i think it could use a bit more power.

I was shooting it all day today with pin point precision...was very happy with the setup... Heres a pic for kicks!:martial

Do u think the 18mm or 19mm would be too much on a 6mm shaft?

nice pics and fish.
imo the 16mm is fine for 6mm shaft.
18 is better for 6,25 and 19or20 for 6.5-6.75.
I generaly prefer the following setups:
gun shaft rubbers

90 6,25-130cm 1x 17,5or 18
100 6,5-130cm 1x 20
110 7,2-140cm 2x17,5

but i mostly spear open clear waters near rocky bottoms in Greece.
If you are fishing caves you need something with less power, cause otherwise you will be needing a new shaft every 2-3 sessions. The same appeals to dirty waters because you wont be shooting a fish in more that 1-2 meters.

I've been using 115 cm, 6mm shaft with 19mm band on an 80cm wooden gun for almost two years. I haven't noticed any problems with accuracy. The shaft flies straight until the end of the single wrap of line and hits exactly where I aim. However the thin shaft lacks penetrating power. I mean you gain speed with the 19mm band, but not necessarily penetrating power. On another gun (90 cm) I use a 130cm, 6.25mm shaft with the same 19mm band and this gun packs more punch than the 80cm one.

I haven’t noticed any scratching of the barrel because I use a Stainless steel cable wishbone instead of wire or stiff steal.
the last four inches of the barrel do not have a rail but the stock muzzle has what basically is a continuation of the rail. so you might think of it like a rail less gun the shat will flex between the two Points of contact. for a rail less the muzzle and the trigger mechanism, for the mundial carbon elite the end of the rail and the muzzle.

I have not noticed any lack of accuracy with the stock set up. [FONT=&quot]I like the ability to add a Euro band in about twenty seconds if I want more power for Different hunting situations.[/FONT]I am interested to find out if the hammer head allows the shaft to whip when it leaves the muzzle. I remember seeing a video on tuning your bow for archery and when an arrow leaves the string it whips like you won’t believe you can only see this with a special fast frame camera, these were carbon arrows too so God knows what happens when we shoot a spring SS shaft with 20mm rubbers.
 
Ok ineed to get me a 6.25mm shaft. Id like to also try some 17.5mm rubber with the 6mm shaft. Maybe ill try the 19mm rubber i have with the 6mm shaft but i think it wont be accurate and will wobble like a bat out of hell!!
 
16-17.5-19-20-21 mm bands.... apart from the diameter, length, elasticity, and quality of the bands matters as much as diameter. Here is the tested results by me...

OMER's power 18mm bands work good with 6.25mm shaft from 80cm to 110 cm gun

OMER's Top Energy 20mm bands (old ones i don't like them to hard to load) works good with 6.5mm bands

OMER's power 18mm bands are also good for 6.5mm shaft for short guns like 75-90....

Circular american latex 17.5 mm works very well with 6mm shaft at 80-90 cm gun, for longer gun it could cause some flex problems.

Circulat american latex 19mm bands is very nice for 6.5mm shaft at the length of the 100-110 cm gun.

In my experience this was the worst combination I have ever tried. The band was just too weak for the 140cm 6.5mm shaft on a 107cm gun. The shaft used to fall down from its straight trajectory after only 2 metres. I switched to 2x16mm latex bands and the difference is noticeable.

There is a big difference between 130cm and 140cm shafts. (90 and 100 guns).
130 - 6,5 for example works well with a single 19 or 20 band on my 100 roballen.

On 106, or 110 or 120 guns it is better to use thicker shafts 6,75 - 7 - 7,2 , because a thicker shaft reaches 4m with more velocity -> more impact (http://www.dapiran.it/art.aspx?id=TEC0240 ) . And i suppose you want a 110 gun to shoot 4m away

2x16 on a 6,5 140 shaft is ok but a little weak for my likes. Fast shot but if you shoot a large grouper from 4m away the chances are not so good.
I prefer the 2x17,5 on 7,2 140 shaft setup, which i use one my 106 Superjedi. Fast, powerful accurate shot but you need a gun with big mass to avoid recoil.

I dont think a 90 beuchat carbon has enough mass for 2 x 16, or 2 x 17,5, but you can try it and if it works for you fine
My choice would be single rubber on this gun for ex. 6,25 demka - spetton with 17,5mm s45 rubbers, or 6,5 seatec with 20mm G20 if you want to go for the bigger fishes-longer shots.
 

it all depends the rubber mate, my pelagos 100 came with that setup and even at first notch it shoots like hell....
 
You guys seem to use a lot of rubber on thin shafts! What band stretch ratio are you guys pulling? I find an 8mm shaft on a 105cm gun with a single 16mm riffe rubber goes great with a pranger Its got enough grunt to take on most things
 
In europe fishes are smaller,faster and mostly you may take long shoots thats why we use "lots of rubbers" on thin shafts.

I use 3 to 3.5 ratio on the bands. I guess Murat is right about the conditions and fish we have. Our fish are small, fast and stay away from the gun. So we need long fast shots. I often shoot at 0.5 kg fish at 3 metres. The favourite combination of 90% of the spearos in Bulgaria is 6mm spear with 20 mm bands When I say that this is too much power for the shaft (based on what I read here) they simply refuse to believe
 
Hi all,

I using a double band Beauchat-gun allready for a while and I understand the fact of shaft-whip, but I never hear'd somebody talk'ed about the lenght
of a shaft and the consequences.
A LONGER SHAFT NEEDS TO BE THICKER TO AVOID SHAFT-WHIP and vice-versa.(IMO)
If the shaft is not longer then 130 cm and not less then 6,5 mm, two pair of rubbers are great.
It's a little more recoil and very often smaller fishes (- 3Kg) get caught on the leech, but I love the greater range and I seldom misses the target.

Ok i finally got some 18mm rubber and some 6.5 OMER shafts... so sson will try this setup.

I have the Rob Allen band sizing chart but thats only for the 20mm and 16mm rubber... Anyone has some other chart or website with all rubber sizes for different gun lengths?
