I was wondering if anyone would share their experiences and opinions of Beuchat wetsuits?

I like the look and cut of the new mundial camo but they aren't in any stores near me, and I don't like buying something without some idea of what I'm getting.

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
Seacidal

Seacidal,

The Beuchat wetsuits are absolutely excellent. I just sent a PM to someone earlier today discussing the Elios, Picasso, and Beuchat suits. Here is a cut and paste of that PM:

"I have ordered three Elios suits in the last three years and each one of them took exactly 3 weeks to get. I have bought suits from most every manufacturer I can think of and IMHO the Elios is the best. Picasso is an honorable mention if you have a standard athletic shape body since they don't customize if you are tall and thin, or short and stout. Beuchat (a rare name to hear in the US) also gets an honorable mention and makes an extremely high quality suit. Beuchats materials, tailoring, and craftmanship are superb!!! Finest quality nylon camo exterior I have ever seen. I am one of the few people I know who dives with one in the US."

Attached are a couple of pics of the new 2007 Green Camo Mundial suit. Sorry for the poor quality of the pics, I was having camera issues at the time. If you are interested in a Beuchat suit contact me via PM.

Jim

P.S. Wait till you see the new Beuchat Marlin speargun! Although I have not shot it yet, I have handled it quite a bit and am making the prediction that it will be a must own.

where did you get that Beuchat camo suit? what thickness is it and how did it cast? I had one beuchat and liked it alot but never could another place to buy another after mine wore out. I really like that suit and thought the quality was better than the Picasso I have now just constructed ALOT BETTER.

I actually have a 1.5mm smooth skin reversible and only wished my picasso suits had the detail to contructions the beuchat has. If the webpage you posted will start carrying them. I'll be first inline to start buying beuchat from now on!

Sorry, that suit isn't available yet. It is the new Green Camo Mundial.

Does beuchat still make this suit in this color of camo. I would actually like to have this camo color because it's closer to the enviroment I dive in the most!

I know the suit you have pictured is a 5mm but does it come 3mm?

Close, it is actually available in a 3.5mm thickness.

What you have pictured is the Brown Camo mundial and it is currently available. I will not have stock until probably sometime in january so if you need one now you could go through the deeperblue.net shop if they have your size and thickness in stock.

Jim

NO I don't need it now and DB shop only has it 5mm 7mm and I need the 3.5 in the brown camo. I just need to get it by May 12th. If you can get to me cheaper than the price they are asking for the 5mm. I'll be more than happy to place an order for the suit through you and other suits in the future! I'll contact you at the end of January to see where your at with the paper work and see when your placing order for the suits. Thank You for the help and look forward in doing business with you!

Speaking of cut, what are people's preferences as to this farmer jon shoulder strap style versus the high waist?
(just interested cuz I have had a lot of ppl ask me why I'm not wearing Beachat lol)

farmer john I think gives alittle more warmth around your center mass but the high pant I think helps you with your breath ups because there's less compression on your chest. I cut my old Picasso 3mm and didn't really like the high pant because it let pants work it's way down and actually loosen up. You can always cut it down if you want it's up to you!

quick question you might have answered it already but i was just skimming through the thread. im really interested in a beachat suit but im tall and thin so i need a custom does beachat make custom suits? if not do you know what company makes a custome suit for a good price but most importantly has great quality i was thinking mareas but i want knee pads elbow pads and a chest pad. i also saw a company named diveskin.net but their suits didnt look like good quality, but they where only $200 and i would consider that a good price. elios is a brand i havent looked at, would you guys be able to tell me how much a suit made by them costs? my main concern is quality and cost. im a college student so i cant be spending to much money. thanks for any help

yes weve exchanged messages and i plan to go thru him soon. im kind of a "right now guy" so im going to be banging my head against the wall waiting for it to arrive but im sure it will be worth the wait.

You bet your ass it will be, had mine a year and love it! I'm 6ft and 185lb and mine fits me pretty damn good, if I'd stayed in the gym it'd fit me a little better. I'm thinking about getting the 3.5mm since the 5mm is so good, but in summer I really don't need a full 5mm.
