Hello,

I used to fish with a little 60 cm speargun, and i decided to change speargun to go for more accuracy and power.
I have a hard time deciding between a cressi geronimo elite in 105 and a beuchat oceania in 110.
They both look like well engineerd spearguns but it would be really nice if any owners or specialist could help me decide.

Thank you in advance
Carl

Hi Carl,
Why don't you post some image links & let us know what you like/dislike about each of them?
[I've added images for other folk in the past but probably better if the posters get in the habit of adding them themselves - I see you are a young chap, so you'll probably be able to figure it out. Hint: look for the button with the mountain & sun/moon.

It's useful if you give us some idea where you dive most too (e.g. country & region) - as conditions and prey vary, as will our suggestions & recommendations.

I have the 85cm geronimo elite... I am very pleased with it - it's very accurate. I took the reel off mine as it's not really needed as I have the gun attached to my float.

Hello and thanks for the answers. Actually Mr X I live in Qatar and dive off a boat in waters ranging from 8 to 15 meters on an artificial line of rocks or on shallower little reef rocks, the visibility is quite good 5-7 meters depending on the weather. The fish I mostly catch are: orange spotted groupers, red snapper, and other types of reef fish , I have also caught barracudas and spanish mackerel, but with way more difficulty. What I like of the Geronimo elite is the fact it has a reel, it is said to be very accurate and well built for the price, I also like the feeling of the handle/grip and safety switch.

However the marlin oceania looks like it is a very good gun as well and it comes with the trigger mechanism and muzzle of the marlin carbon, it also has a better shaft of origin and it comes with two bands.

Also, the price of the Cressi is 34$ higher than the Beuchat.
Please feel free to give your advice even if you don't own any of them.
Carl
