Hi all,

I have a Beuchat speargun with one of their open heads with automatic locking mechanism. I have never wrapped my shooting line around the spear like you do on normal open head spearguns but I saw someone do it the other day. So which was is correct? I thought their new head was to get the best of both worlds, the speed of open heads with the ease of closed heads, but I may have gotten that wrong :) .

Thanks,
Gabriel

The metal things that clips/ holds the shaft in place causes friction. When I had my Beuchat I always left them open/ loose. Personap preference I guess, but I always opted for less drag.

Ok, I am not sure I can wrap it now that I think of it, I just looked at Beuchat's site and it is not wrapped since it is a roller gun, they wrap the others I see though. Thus if I just loosen those metal pincers the spear will fall out.

Well then I advise you to loosen the metal parts a tad, just enough that the shaft doesnt fall out.

I will play around with it, I don't want it falling out, I have to see what difference it makes.
