Hi I am looking for a fin which will suite my needs for both spearfishing and freediving.

I am looking at either the Picasso Black Team or Omer Millenium Runner at the moment.

Which would you recommend and why?

Thanks

Haven;t used either of those fins, but My Omer Bat 30's do the job when spearing, or an off season fun dive.

having never used either of those fins I would have to go with the omer, I use a lot of their equipment and it seems to all be of good quality, and They Sponsor Deeperblue :D

Been waiting for some time now for a reply and in the mean time went out and buy the............Omers :)

There is not a giant difference in those fins and it would come down to personal preference.
Spearos tend to look for a fin that will take more abuse and is comfortable for surface work. A Freediver-only might look for ultimate depth/distance capabilities.
Carbon fins are at the fragile end of the spectrum but are the most efficient for deep diving.
Polymer fins can be very tough to break but are not the best for competitive diving.
Fiberglass fins are very efficient but still quite resilient to abuse, and can be bought in softer styles for comfort at the surface.

All that said, it comes down to the diver more than anything. Martin Stepanek did a 70+ metre dive with little rubber crap fins in Hawaii competition, and guys like Mark labocetta and other spearos will use carbon fins for hunting.
Enjoy your new fins dude!
Peace,
Erik Y.
