first and foremost thank you for taking your time to read this. Let me start by saying I have always known that women make excellent spearos and free divers as my wife is one. How ever I have always felt that I didn't need their help as I am a big strong man and such. However due to the coooold water near where I live as of late I have been forced to train in the pool. There is a women there in her fifties who totally dominated, I couldn't swim as fast, nor hold my breath as long as she was able to. Well long story longer I finally came off my high horse and ate a little humble pie. After confiding in her how amazed I was at her performance; albeit slightly envious she volunteered to help me train and in two weeks she has made a huge impact on my technique and training regiment. Thus I am writing this thread to send my warmest thanks to all the women who have undergone gender casting and stereotypes yet still maintain their credibility and confidence.
Thank you!!!

Nice to hear that your wife is a spearo :) I wish I could get my wife to start, hell I wish I could get my wife in the water rofl She has tried but she hates the cold water and always complains that it's just green with no pretty fish :hmm but yes these women certainly can cut the mustard. The best spearo I ever dived with was my mates wife (who was on the staff of this forum). Like the woman in the pool, she could hold her breath for a silly length of time with what looked like no effort (well in comparison to me that is rofl). She must have ad a way with her underwater that didn't threaten the fish because she always caught far more than anyone else.

Yeah I'll join you in your praise and thanks :)
