I have just bought a used 36 special and the safety lever is on the right side. Can this be changed to the left? Or is there supposed to be a lever on the left side and it's gone?
TIA, Steve

why do you even need the safety? I figure if the gun is in your hand the safety should be off and if it isn't in your hand the bands shouldn't be loaded...

also, i don't know if there is a way to change the safety.

I used to use safeties when I was starting out. Since then, after diving with a lot of experienced spearos, if I want to "safety" my gun, I unload the bands. Simple as that.

That said, I always thought Biller safeties were on the left side so you could flip it with your left hand while using it in your right. Strange...

I would not worry about it significantly, though. Having the safety be a PITA to use will just make you that much more conscious of where you're pointing it while it's loaded, and make you a few seconds quicker on the draw.

Thanks for the replies, I have changed the lever to the left side so if I want to use it it will be handy!
Steve
