Bite/sting from diving?

Hi all! I recently completed my open water cert, and had a blast doing so! During my first dive, I either got bit or stung on the top of my foot by an animal or by some coral; it happened near a coral reef, about 25 feet deep. I had hives and severe itching in random spots on my body for several days afterward, and even after a week, the "bite mark" is still there. I have no food allergies that would have caused this, no signs of mites or bugs, and experienced more hives a few days ago after applying lotion and extending the lotion upward onto my leg. Does anyone know what creature or sea plant may have caused this?! Any answers are so appreciated. The pic is a week post-bite.
